The global responsibility of this position and all positions within the department of Imaging Services is to provide quality diagnostic images, comfort, and care for patients and employees at KVH. All employees are responsible for seeking ways to continuously improve our operations and procedures. The sonographer is responsible for reviewing orders for appropriateness, verifying physician orders, and performing procedures in a safe, caring, and timely manner. Additionally, the sonographer must consistently produce quality images and reports for the radiologist to interpret and report to the requesting physician. A high level of professional expertise is required, along with responsibility for professional growth and development. The art and practice of sonography requires in-depth knowledge of human growth, anatomy and physiology, proper anatomical positioning, normal and abnormal pathology, physiological responses, disabilities, and the ability to interact with patients in a professional and kind manner.

Wage: Wage range currently starts at $41.24/hour and goes up to $62.50/hour. Actual wage will be based on years of applicable experience.
FTE: 1.0 = 40 hours/week
