Job summary

Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre is seeking a student Radiology/Medical Assistant to provide non-technical and supervised support to Radiology departments. You will assist in patient transport, preparation, and imaging room setup under the supervision of licensed technologists to ensure safe, timely imaging studies.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited Radiology, Vascular, or Echo program recognized by ARRT or CMAHEP and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Computer literacy is required to operate imaging and information systems.
• Strong interpersonal communication is essential for patient and team interactions.
• Experience with clinical precepting or mentoring is beneficial for supervising students.

Responsibilities

• Operates imaging equipment under supervision to support radiology staff.
• Assists with patient preparation, transport, and imaging room setup.
• Performs post-processing and documentation under guidance to ensure image quality and patient safety.
• Maintains equipment and adheres to ALARA and patient safety principles.
