Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a Registered Radiologic Technologist to perform X-ray imaging and related procedures with supervision. You will interview patients, explain exams, ensure safety, and coordinate with physicians to optimize imaging quality.

The role requires ARRT registration, an accredited Radiologic Technology program, and experience with PACS; EPIC experience is a plus. Work is onsite in a 40-hour-week schedule.

Summary:
Using radiological (X-ray) imaging equipment and standards under close to moderate supervision, the Registered Radiological Technologist prepares and performs procedures and tests used to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.By interviewing and preparing patients with in-depth understanding of the equipment and procedures, this role ensures effective, safe use of this equipment and drives optimal care outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares and performs radiological (X-ray) imaging.

• Reads and comprehends imaging order, engaging with physician when order is unclear, complex or warrants deeper review. Selects appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters using knowledge of human anatomy.

• Interviews patients to understand risk factors that may warrant a more in-depth examination for safety.

• Guides patients, some distressed, through their examination, applying subject matter expertise and cultural competency to explain the exam. Sets expectations and calms patient for effective imaging.

• Uploads imaging results into Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Records information into Electronic Medical Recordkeeping (EMR) system.

Other information:

Required

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Science

• Registration as Radiological Technologist from American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists

• Good understanding of human anatomy - can be established through education or experience

• Experience reading and interpreting radiology orders

• Experience working with a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)

Preferred

• Experience working with EPIC
