Summary
Perform CT exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care.
Essential Functions
- Perform CT exams and assist physician in invasive procedures in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness within the department time standards for routine exams.
- Obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide the patient with information about the exam and/or procedure so they are comfortable and thoroughly understand it.
- Work with the radiologists, referring clinics and/or patients to ensure the appropriate exams, films and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the radiologist, referring clinic and the patient’s medical records.
- Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
- Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees, stocking and/or ordering department supplies and assisting in other departments.
Qualifications
- RT (R) (CT) required within one year of employment.
- 3-6 months general X‑ray experience preferred.
- 6-12 months CT experience preferred.
- IV and power contrast injector experience preferred.
- CPR certification required.
- Knowledge of basic radiologic principles, procedures, methods and techniques required.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.
- Excellent patient care, problem‑solving, organizational, communication and technical skills required.
- Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety‑related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
- Competent in using a computer keyboard, email, Imagecast and PACS or similar applications.
Daily Physical Demands
Requires a moderate amount of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, gripping, twisting, turning and repetitive motion; some bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping and stretching. Requires eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone and other office equipment. Ability to assist patients to walk, sit, stand and move to and from the exam table, wheelchair and/or Hoyer lift.
Environmental/Working Conditions
- High‑potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood products, bodily fluids and/or hazardous materials common to a radiology setting.
- High‑potential exposure to ionizing radiation in exam rooms and/or involved in the use of ionizing radiation common to a radiology setting.
