Job summary

Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO is seeking a CT Radiologic Technologist to perform CT scans and ensure high-quality images. You will review requisitions, prepare equipment, and screen patients with collaboration from radiologists.

Proficiency with RIS/PACS and cloud image transfer is required. The shift is 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, with adherence to department policies and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT Radiology registry is required.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification is required.
  • CT registry preferred or registry eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Review requisitions; check and prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Screen patients for proper preparation and allergies; consult with radiologist as needed.
  • Explain procedures; position patient and apply exam protocol.
  • Enter exams in RIS and PACS; ensure proper documentation.
  • Provide radiologist with patient history for diagnosis.
  • Assess image quality and test type; maintain department policies.
  • Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Attend department meetings; 50% attendance required.
  • Adhere to hospital dress code and safety standards.
  • Transmit images to cloud systems as required.
  • Perform radiologic technologist duties as needed.

Description

PURPOSE STATEMENT

Produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered/directed, according to established practices and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Review requisitions, check and prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Identify, interview, and screen patient for proper preparation and for possible allergies to contrast materials. Consult with radiologist, or attending physician as needed.
  • Explain procedure to patient, position patient on table and use appropriate protocol for exam ordered.
  • Knowledgeable on lab tests needed prior to exam.
  • Schedule and/or Reschedule patients as needed.
  • Able to enter exams in Radiology Information System and PACS.
  • Provide radiologist with proper history for complete diagnosis.
  • Review/evaluate completed images for quality, completeness and type of test ordered.
  • Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality.
  • Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Keep work areas clean. Maintain supply levels.
  • Must adhere to hospital dress code.
  • Attend in-service meetings and other meetings as required. Attendance of 50% of all department meetings is required.
  • Able to send images to both cloud systems
  • Perform duties of Radiologic Technologist as needed.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
SHIFT REQUIREMENT
  • 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
  • Registry from the ARRT in Radiology required.
  • Registry in CT preferred or registry eligible.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
  • Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
  • Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
  • Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
  • Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
