Job summary

McLeod Health is seeking an Imaging Technologist Advanced – PET Imaging to perform high-quality diagnostic PET imaging and other modalities, ensuring patient comfort and safety. You will work with a team of radiologists and clinicians to deliver accurate studies and maintain thorough patient records.

The role requires ARRT Radiography certification and 1–2 years multi-modality imaging experience, with a BS preferred. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • ARRT Radiography certification required.
  • Current state licensure required.
  • Multi-modality imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures across modalities per physician orders and protocols.
  • Position patients for exams ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Operate, maintain and monitor imaging equipment for quality images.
  • Verify patient identity and medical history to select imaging techniques.
  • Follow radiation safety, infection control and regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate image quality and adjust to obtain diagnostic studies.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and clinicians to support accurate interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate EHR documentation of procedures.
  • Educate patients about procedures and address questions or concerns.
  • Pursue ongoing education to maintain certifications and stay current.

Position Overview

McLeod Health is seeking a skilled Imaging Technologist – Advanced PET Imaging to perform high‑quality diagnostic imaging procedures while delivering exceptional patient care. The role offers the opportunity to work with advanced imaging technology in a collaborative healthcare environment dedicated to excellence.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in multiple modalities in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging exams while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Operate, maintain, and monitor imaging equipment to ensure proper functionality and image quality.
  • Verify patient identity and review medical history to select appropriate imaging techniques.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards, infection control guidelines, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate image quality and make necessary adjustments to obtain diagnostic‑quality studies.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to support accurate image interpretation and patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Educate patients regarding imaging procedures and address questions or concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing education, training, and professional development activities to maintain certifications and stay current with advancing imaging technologies.

Qualifications
Education
  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of diagnostic imaging experience required.
  • Multi‑modality imaging experience strongly preferred.
Certifications & Licensure
  • ARRT Certification in Radiography required.
  • Additional ARRT certifications in CT, MRI, PET, or other imaging modalities preferred.
  • Current state licensure as required.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong technical knowledge of radiographic procedures and imaging equipment.
  • Excellent patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and exceptional patient outcomes.
