Job summary

Charlotte Radiology in Fort Mill, SC seeks a PET/CT technologist to perform imaging procedures, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure patient safety and comfort. You will work with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver timely, high-quality results while complying with regulatory standards.

The role requires ARRT Nuclear Medicine certification, PET/CT experience, and strong radiation safety knowledge. Schedule is Monday–Friday, with no weekends or on-call duties expected.

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Experience and knowledge performing PET CT imaging.
  • Knowledge of PET/CT imaging principles, protocols, and equipment.
  • Understanding of radiation safety and protection standards.
  • Familiarity with cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.
  • Proficiency in patient positioning and imaging techniques.
  • Ability to assess image quality and recognize abnormalities.
  • Knowledge of infection control and patient care practices.
  • Skill in operating and troubleshooting imaging equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately.
  • Ensure patient identification, education, and comfort throughout the imaging process.
  • Screen patients for contraindications and obtain relevant medical history.
  • Operate and maintain PET/CT equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols.
  • Review images for quality and completeness prior to submission.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to support accurate diagnosis.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records in compliance with regulations.
  • Perform routine quality control and report equipment issues as needed.
  • Comply with all organizational policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus. No weekends or on-call schedule.

Location: Fort Mill, SC

Shift: Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 pm

Position Summary: Performs PET/CT imaging procedures to support accurate diagnosis while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals, operates imaging equipment, and follows established protocols and radiation safety standards. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, timely results and maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • BLS

  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety and protection standards
  • Familiarity with cross-sectional anatomy and pathology
  • Proficiency in patient positioning and imaging techniques
  • Ability to assess image quality and recognize abnormalities
  • Knowledge of infection control and patient care practices
  • Skill in operating and troubleshooting imaging equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and experience with imaging and EMR systems
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be competent with IV skills
  • Travel required: 0-25%
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and assist patients (typically up to 25–50 lbs)
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Manual dexterity to operate imaging equipment and IV administration
  • Visual acuity to review imaging studies and patient information
  • Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to radiation (with proper protection)
  • Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Work in a fast-paced, patient-focused healthcare setting
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations
