Job summary

Qualifications

• Six (6) months or successful completion of Kaiser externship.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
• Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs and other information.
• Record information in patients' medical records.
• Prepare treatment rooms and patients for examination.
• Inventory, order and replenish medical supplies.
• Schedule appointments and perform clinical tasks.
• Record lab values and other treatment documentation.
• May clean, process, sterilize and check instruments.
• Perform computer data entry and support departmental tasks.
• Perform clinical/technical skills specific to the department.
