Job summary

St Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado invites an Imaging Tech – Student to join our medical imaging department. You will perform diagnostic radiology procedures, prepare patients, position equipment, and learn safety practices under supervision.

You will work with experienced staff, gain hands-on experience aligned with ARRT/ARDMS/CNMTB training, and contribute to accurate exams while developing professional skills in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in ARRT/ARDMS/CNMTB training program within nine months of graduation.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic radiology procedures with safety for patient and staff.
  • Produces and develops quality exams accurately and timely.
  • Prepares patients, provides instructions, and assists during exams.
  • Explains procedures to patients and attends to their needs.
  • Observes patient and equipment and documents any unusual occurrences.
  • Communicates with physicians and imaging staff to support continuum care.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Imaging Tech - Student, you will contribute to our medical imaging department by performing varied duties tailored to support departmental needs and enhance your professional experience, above and beyond school requirements.

  • Performs diagnostic radiology procedures, providing safety for self, patients, and all other individuals to include radiation safety.
  • Produces and develops quality exams in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Prepares patient for exams; gives instructions to patients regarding procedures; assists the patient during the exam and positions the patient.
  • Explains the procedure to patients and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
  • Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patient's conditions.
  • Communicates, in writing and verbally, with all physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff in facilitating the continuum care.
Job Requirements
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be enrolled in an approved ARRT, ARDMS or CNMTB training program, within nine (9) months of graduation
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
Preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited sonography program
