Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Transport Assistant to move patients to and from the Radiology imaging department and to assist technologists with the flow of the unit.

You will review patient records, support exam preparation, assist with transfers, and help maintain clean, ready imaging rooms. Strong communication and customer service are essential; healthcare program enrollment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in transporting patients to, from, and throughout the Radiology department.

• Handles internal and external communications via phone, secure messaging, paging, fax, and email.
• Delivers/transports imaging contrast and labs as needed; participates in continuous improvement.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, is responsible for the movement of patients to and from the imaging department. Responsible for assisting the technologists with flow of the department, to include review of medical records, room turnaround, delivering contrast to the ED/IP units and more.

Major Responsibilities

• Assists in the transportation of patients to, from, and throughout the Radiology department.
• Collecting and reviewing patient information in preparation for exams (medical review).
• Assists in patient transfer, including lateral transfers to and from stretchers.
• Assists in preparing Radiology rooms by cleaning, stocking, and setting up for exams.
• Internal communications utilizing phone, secure messaging, and paging system. External communications utilizing phone, fax, and email.
• Delivers/transports imaging contrast, labs, and more to appropriate locations. g. Participate in continuous Improvement activities.
• Other tasks as needed.

Pay Range

$18.00 - $25.20

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
