Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington is seeking a dedicated transport technician to support diagnostic imaging services across CT, Ultrasound, MRI and X-ray. You will help ensure smooth patient flow, assist with exam preparation, and manage patient check-ins when needed.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced hospital environment, aligned with safety and teamwork principles.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in filing, telephone etiquette, guest relations and proper body mechanics for patient transport.
• Current BLS certification through ILCOR or approved courses with manikin check-off.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the smooth flow of diagnostic studies in all modalities as needed.
• Responsible for the safe transport of patients from units to CT, Ultrasound, MRI and X-ray.
• Assists with the preparation of patients for exams.
• Checks patients into Epic when a patient representative is unavailable.
