Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking an on-site Imaging Call Center support professional at Atlantic Station to ensure timely communication of imaging results and coordination of patient care. You will interact with radiologists, providers, and patients daily using Epic chat, e-fax, and in-basket messaging.

The role requires prior call center experience, GED, and sharp attention to detail to manage critical results and scheduling with accuracy and empathy.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of previous call center, operator, dispatching, or related office experience required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, radiologists, and providers.

Responsibilities

• Answer, locate, and direct calls to ordering providers for imaging with critical results.
• Serve as first line contact for radiologists, providers, and nursing staff on urgent findings.
• Review reports and notify patients and referring physicians via Epic secure chat, e-fax, and in-basket messaging.
• Maintain the critical results tracker to ensure timely communication within required timeframes.
• Verify MRI safety for outpatients with implants through interrogation protocols.
• Notify ordering providers if device interrogation fails to support care planning.
• Coordinate with the Patient Connection Center for timely post-device interrogation scheduling.
• Request and manage outside imaging for exam correlation using Powershare.
• Perform basic office procedures to support the Imaging Call Center daily operations.

Responsibilities

This role is critical in ensuring timely and accurate communication of imaging results, coordinating patient care, and facilitating smooth operations between radiologists, providers, and patients.

What you will do

• Answer, locates, direct calls to ordering providers when there is an imaging study with a critical result.


• Serve as the first line contact for radiologists, providers, and nursing staff regarding urgent imaging findings.


• Reviews reports and sends proper notification to patients and referring physicians as needed by using Epic secure chat, e-fax and in-basket messaging.


• Maintain and manage the critical results tracker to ensure timely communication within required timeframes.


• Verify MRI safety for outpatients with implantable devices (e.g., pacemakers, IUDs, neuro-stimulators) through proper interrogation protocols.


• Notify ordering providers when devices fail interrogation to facilitate alternative care planning.


• Work closely with the Patient Connection Center to ensure timely scheduling of patients\' post-device interrogation.


• Request and manage outside imaging for exam correlation using Powershare.


• Perform basic office procedures to support the Imaging Call Center\'s daily operations.

This is an on-site position based out of Atlantic Station.
