Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care in Nash, NC, seeks an Imaging Tech Assistant to provide patient care under the supervision of a registered radiologic technologist, joining a team dedicated to safe, compassionate imaging services. The role assists staff to assure optimal patient care, collaborates with Care Team partners, and maintains own clinical and mandatory education requirements.

This is a full-time, onsite day-shift position (40 hours per week) at Nash Hospitals.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current registry listing to practice as a Nursing Assistant I or enrollment in a radiology technology program, ultrasound program, nuclear medicine program, CT program or MRI program is preferred.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides and maintains a clean, safe and attractive environment for patients.
• Greets and escorts patients to dressing rooms and briefly explains the procedure.
• Prepares room set up between patients: proper coil (if applicable), placing coils away, changing the sheet and disinfecting the table and equipment.
• Call next day patients giving basic directions for prep, arrival, etc.
• Have the next patient ready for the exam.
• Stock linen and empties laundry.
• Transports patients via wheelchair, bed or stretcher to and from the department, and performs a variety of non-professional and non technical support functions for the department.
• Collaborates with Care Team partners to assure optimal patient care.
• Maintains own clinical and mandatory education requirements.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Current Nursing Assistant I registry or enrollment in radiology/ultrasound/nuclear medicine/CT/MRI program (preferred)
