Job summary

Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is seeking an Imaging Technical Aide in Radiology Diagnostics. The role supports licensed technologists by coordinating patient flow, preparing patients for imaging, and assisting with equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities include handling transfers, maintaining sterile fields, and providing patient education and post-procedure follow-up. CPR certification is required; HS diploma preferred. Position is full-time, day shift, 80 hours per pay period.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Willingness to learn imaging protocols and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and assists with patient transfers to and from imaging services.
• Prepares patients for imaging procedures and monitors vitals as needed.
• Responds to requests during imaging using proper anatomy terminology and protocols.
• Under supervision, positions patients and assists with image acquisition.
• Explains information to patients and families about treatment, MRI questionnaire, and procedures.
• Helps burn patient CDs and provides data for department leadership.
• Maintains sterile fields and equipment in the imaging department.
• Disinfects and cleans exam rooms and equipment after procedures.
• Serves as inter-departmental communication resource and supports calls with patients.
• Follows policies, completes annual education, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
