Job summary

UPMC Mercy Imaging Services is seeking a full-time Imaging Services Tech Assistant to support CT Technologists and the imaging team. You will transport patients, assist with procedure setup, and help maintain a safe, efficient environment for patients, families, and staff.

This role offers four rotating 10-hour shifts, daytime/evening start times, rotating weekends, no on-call, on-site parking, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, PTO, retirement, parental leave, and tuition

Qualifications

• Willingness to transport patients within the facility.
• Basic understanding of IV catheter placement.
• Ability to follow safety and radiation safety protocols.
• Comfort scheduling exams and communicating with patients.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from units when required.
• Assists with exam setup and courier specimens to lab, as needed.
• Follows established safety and radiation safety protocols.
• Accurately schedules and reschedules exams, as needed.
• Contacts patients for additional scanning when appropriate.
• Assists technologist with patient care/flow as instructed.
• Verifies patient identity by using at least two patient identifiers.
• Provides pre- and post-procedure education to patients.
• Documents patient history into the electronic medical record.
• Reviews physician orders and contacts office if additional information is required.

Work Schedule

• Four rotating 10-hour shifts across the week.


• Daylight and evening shifts, with start times of 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 1 p.m.


• Rotating weekends and holiday coverage.


• NO on-call or travel!


• Parking available on-site for weekend shifts!

The Imaging Services Tech Assistant will support our CT Technologists and other departmental staff with daily activities, technical procedures, and critical patient care needs to keep patient flow moving efficiently!
