Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking Imaging Services Student Techs to join our CT Department. This role offers hands-on clinical imaging experience and the opportunity to work alongside seasoned technologists in a fast-paced hospital setting.

We provide flexible scheduling to fit school commitments, with options to work during the week as well as weekend and holiday rotations. Immerse yourself in CT imaging, learn from Radiologists, and contribute to patient care on a premier academic medical center

Qualifications

• Gain hands-on clinical imaging experience in CT.
• Learn imaging workflow and patient positioning.
• Work with radiologists and technologists in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist Radiologists and CT Technologists with imaging procedures and patient care.
• Gain experience using imaging equipment under supervision.
• Assist with patient positioning, exam prep, and workflow coordination.
• Support daily equipment inspections and department operations.
• Document exams and schedule procedures in Radiology Information Systems.
• Maintain radiation safety standards.
• Assist with contrast preparation under supervision.
• Maintain proficiency on skills and equipment.

Looking to expand your imaging experience and explore the world of Computed Tomography (CT)? This is an exciting opportunity for students to gain hands‑on clinical experience, work alongside experienced technologists, and build valuable skills in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your school commitments, with opportunities to work during the week and participate in a weekend and holiday rotation.

What You'll Do:

• Assist Radiologists and CT Technologists with imaging procedures and patient care.
• Gain experience utilizing advanced imaging equipment under the supervision of a Technologist or Radiologist.
• Assist with patient positioning, exam preparation, and workflow coordination.
• Support daily equipment inspections, quality control procedures, and departmental operations.
• Arrive patients, track exams, scan documentation, and schedule procedures within Radiology Information Systems.
• Obtain quality images while following radiation safety standards and protocols.
• Assist with contrast preparation under Technologist supervision (student techs are not responsible for loading or priming injectors).
• Maintain clinical proficiency and competency on completed skills and equipment.
