Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an experienced radiology/department leader to guide operations, oversee quality and safety audits, and ensure compliance with imaging regulations across modalities. This role emphasizes educating staff, optimizing processes, and maintaining patient privacy throughout imaging workflows.

Responsibilities include staff development, managing department resources, and driving improvements in access, service quality, and efficiency while coordinating with regulatory bodies

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience.
  • Associates degree in Anatomy, Physiology, Biology, radiological science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field AND minimum four (4) years of radiologic technology experience or experience in a directly related field OR Minimum five (5) years of radiologic technology experience or experience in a directly related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provides developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; works closely with employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement.
  • Manages designated work unit or team by translating business plans into tactical action items; oversees the completion of work assignments and identifies opportunities for improvement; ensures all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Fosters an individualized and compassionate patient care atmosphere by guiding and overseeing efforts to educate patients on relevant procedures, addressing patient questions/concerns of varying complexity, and modeling behavior for personnel to facilitate patient cooperation.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the department by ensuring the timely ordering of departmental supplies and disposables for use in assigned areas, while effectively managing inventory levels and enforcing policies/protocols for supply utilization.
  • Prioritizes patient and employee safety by maintaining awareness of changes made to all internal and external safety-related regulations, policies, and procedures; managing the implementation and enforcement of rules, regulations, and standards to improve quality of care, streamline operations, and mitigate risk.
  • Drives adherence to appropriate protocols when performing radiologic/fluoroscopic examinations by leading the evaluation of a patients clinical history with the exam to be performed, and identifying alternatives when contraindications are present; leveraging an in-depth understanding of radiology systems; ensuring data integrity in RIS/PACS.
