Job summary

Denver Health is seeking an Imaging Services Assistant - CT Department to join our team. This role supports the CT team with patient prep, transport, and documentation, ensuring readiness for imaging and safe, efficient workflows.

Required 1-3 years in patient care, IV access experience, BLS/CPR, EMTB preferred. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA/Red Cross required or EMTB preferred

Responsibilities

• Place and remove IVs on CT patients not already having one.
• Transport patients to and from CT suite from waiting area, ED, or other locations.
• Ensure patient jewelry is removed and patient is gowned appropriately for CT type.
• Serve as primary contact for CT imaging scheduling via phone, Epic messages, and Epic status board.
• Assist patients on/off CT table; clean and prep table for next patient.
• Scrub CT schedule in advance for additional services (interpreter requests, CT contrast prep, etc.).
• Stock supplies for CT suites.

Department CT Scan Job Summary

Under general supervision, this individual will be a key member of the CT team, contributing to a variety of critical tasks to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient preparation and transport, ensuring readiness for imaging procedures, managing and documenting patient information, and collaborating in all areas of daily operations.

This role also involves maintaining a safe and organized environment. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset are essential in providing seamless support to the CT department.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for placing & removing IVs on all patients coming to CT that do not already have one. (30%)
• Transport patients to and from CT suite whether from a waiting room area, ED room, or other location. (30%)
• Ensures patient has all jewelry removed prior to scan and patient is gowned appropriately based on CT scan type. (20%)
• Primary point of contact and schedule coordinator for phone calls, Epic messages, and Epic status board for CT imaging scans. (5%)
• Responsible for getting patients on and off CT table. Cleaning table and preparing for the next patient. (5%)
• Scrub CT schedule in advance to prepare for any additional services a patient may need (i.e. interpreter services requests, CT contrast prep, etc.). (5%)
• Responsible for stocking supplies for CT suites. (5%)

Education

High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience

1-3 years of experience in a patient care setting, with preferred emphasis on prior experience in a procedural/surgical setting.

Required

1-3 years IV and Vascular access experience, preferred.

Licenses

BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required

EMTB-EMT Basic - CO - State of Colorado preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate openly and empathetically with patients and their family members.

Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary team to provide high quality care.

Basic proficiency in use of computers and software applications.

Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to operate and document IV care in Epic EMR.

Ability to be adaptable and offer flexibility with schedule as needed.

Ability to use a Hoyer lift when needed.
