Job summary

The InterMed Group in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an experienced field service technician to repair, calibrate, and maintain hospital diagnostic imaging equipment, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound and related systems, while documenting results and coordinating with dispatch for timely follow-up.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, meticulous records, and professional interaction with clinical staff, IT teams, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences, in person and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy in documentation.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance management workflows.

  • Performs repairs and calibrations to diagnostic imaging equipment and maintains associated records by filing accurate and timely reports.
  • Responsible for devices such as general X-ray, CT, MRI, digital X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, and mobile X-ray.
  • Solve problems with analytical thinking and coordinate with internal and external resources.
  • Assist vendors and research resources and suppliers.
  • Complies with facility and company policies and maintains a neat work area.
  • Maintains professional interactions with staff, customers, and peers; supports audits and regulatory requirements.

Job Location: Albuquerque, NM - Albuquerque, NM 87102

SUMMARY

Responsible for working independently in providing repairs and preventative maintenance for hospital clients’ diagnostic imaging equipment. This position is required to maintain records, document results, and coordinate outside resources for repairs. Response times are measured to achieve customer requirements and satisfaction.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs repairs and calibrations to diagnostic imaging equipment and maintains associated records by filing accurate and timely reports with Dispatcher.
  • Responsible for one or more of the following devices: general X-ray, CT, MRI, digital X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, and mobile X-ray.
  • Solve problems utilizing analytical thought processes which may involve multiple contacts with internal and external resources.
  • Assist other personnel as required.
  • Interacts with vendors. Research resources and suppliers.
  • Completes facility and company policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Conducts and maintains duties, personal appearance, interactions with fellow employees, staff, and customers in a professional manner.
  • Comply with ongoing educational opportunities provided. Use unassigned time to increase knowledge on technology and procedures.
  • Understands and works well with the auditing agencies and their requirements, i.e., ACHA, TJC.
  • Understands NFPA-99 and electrical leakage limits with a good understanding of biological parameters.
  • Assist in Senior Management as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least one (1) year of imaging related experience or a combination of related work experience and training/education.
  • Two-year degree from an accredited school in electronics or equivalent military experience.
  • Completed an internship with an accredited program.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse audiences, both in person and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail — able to spot inconsistencies, follow processes precisely, and ensure accuracy in data entry.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Requires constant contact with staff and the public.
  • Work is performed in air conditioned/heated facilities.
  • Requires exposure to outside elements up to 10% of the time.
TYPICAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Works regularly in clinical, technical, and equipment installation environments.
  • Requires manual coordination to use hand tools, test equipment, and computers.
  • Ability to install, configure, and integrate complex clinical or healthcare systems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for system performance and issue resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and service requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills to work with clinical staff, IT teams, and vendors.
  • Must maintain attention to detail and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
