Job summary

Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital is seeking an Imaging Scheduler to prioritize and schedule patient examinations and provide exam preparation instructions. The role includes answering phones and directing calls to appropriate staff.

This PRN, on-site position requires flexibility for weekend and holiday coverage on a rotating basis, with shifts ranging from 5 to 10 hours and start times from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Experience using computers in an office setting or doing data entry.
• Demonstrated customer service experience.
• Medical terminology or training (preferred)
• Experience in a Radiology setting (preferred)
• Bilingual (preferred)

• Answers calls that come into the department and routes them to appropriate personnel.

Job Description

The Imaging Scheduler is responsible for the prioritization and scheduling of patient examinations and patient instruction concerning preparation and timetable. This position is also responsible for answering phones and directing calls as necessary.

Job Details

• Benefits Eligible: No, PRN (as needed)
• Shift/Schedule: Provide coverage for available shifts as needed. Shifts are available Sunday through Saturday and may be 5-hour or 10-hour shifts. Start times range from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with shifts beginning every hour thereafter.
• Unit/Location: Imaging Services at Pedersen Tower, Utah Valley Hospital and Utah Valley Outpatient Center (located on the same campus)
• Additional Details: Weekend and holiday coverage is required on a rotating basis. We strive to distribute these assignments fairly across the team. This PRN role is best suited for candidates with broad availability to support departmental staffing needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
• Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
• Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
• May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
