Job summary

Texas Orthopedic Hospital in Houston, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Registered Nurse for Diagnostic Imaging PRN to provide direct patient care within the RN scope.

Responsibilities include therapeutic communication, safety, and nursing process delivery with emphasis on imaging patients. Requires RN license, BLS/ACLS, and a Bachelor's degree; radiology and radiation safety experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license and practice in Texas with CPR/ACLS as required.
• Experience in radiation safety and pediatric/adult radiology patient care preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of RN practice in Diagnostic Imaging.
• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Implement care using the nursing process with focus on individual patients.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families for informed health care choices.
• Delegate tasks to caregivers as appropriate.
• Participate in Diagnostic Imaging initiatives and process improvement.
• Supervise new staff and learners.
• Maintain high quality age-specific care across patient groups.
