Job summary

Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensure image quality, and maintain radiation safety. You will explain procedures to patients, verify orders and patient identities, and collaborate with the Imaging Manager to support department goals.

The role requires ARRT certification, Louisiana state licensure, and BLS. You will work in a fast-paced imaging department with a focus on safety and quality, including standby

Qualifications

• ARRT registration in good standing.
• Louisiana state license to practice radiologic technology.
• Maintains BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and interprets physician orders for diagnostic x-ray procedures.
• Validates patient identification before performing procedures.
• Explains procedures and obtains patient medical history relevant to the exam.
• Verifies proper functioning and technical settings of imaging equipment and room.
• Ensures patient comfort and safety during procedures; adheres to radiation safety protocols.
• Performs waived and non-waived I-stat laboratory testing as required; manages specimen handling and QC.
• Critiques images for quality and participates in QA activities.
• Maintains professional rapport with department and facility staff; participates in standby calls as needed.
