Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time radiology support team member at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. You will assist patients, prepare exam rooms, operate radiology systems, and coordinate between physicians and technologists. Strong communication and patient service skills are essential.

No prior experience is required. BLS certification is required on hire unless designated otherwise by leadership. This position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to department policies.

Qualifications

• Education required: GED or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or High School Graduate.
• No experience required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required upon hire unless department leader determines it is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient in exam prep and provide basic instruction.
• Use radiology systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain patient information.
• Organize exam rooms and prepare work areas, including cleaning and stocking.
• Greets patients and responds to routine requests, schedules appointments, and takes messages as needed.
• Act as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provide radiology reports and/or images upon request and manage film/jackets.
• Document information and communicate observations to physicians and health care team.
• Complete routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment.
• Assist with screening and documentation of MRI implants as needed.
• Provide age-appropriate care and assess patient needs per department policies.
