Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a skilled printing operator for the B shift at our Wallace Ave facility. You will operate high resolution, digital print and inkjet equipment, program and prepare jobs, and maintain daily production logs and delivery manifests.

Ideal candidates understand color theory, file formats, and can set up feeds and inline finishing per job specs. You may train junior operators and assist with ongoing process improvements while ensuring output quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience with digital print and/or inkjet equipment setup and operation.
• Knowledge of color theory and ability to adjust output to specs.
• Lifts up to 50 lbs and maintains stamina for long shifts.

Responsibilities

Location: Wallace Ave, BCS

• B Shift: Thurs, Fri, Sat, 6am-6pm

Shift Differential Applies!

• Operate high resolution, variable print proprietary imaging equipment
• Program and prepare jobs for printing
• Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests
• Setup, program and release jobs from print queue
• Adjust image position
• Color quality and resolution, perforations and folds on paper, etc.
• Monitor quality of job output for correctness and image quality
• Order supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, blankets and rollers, paper, tabs, and other items as needed
• May instruct junior level operators how to complete the required corrective adjustment
• Share your expertise and help train other employees as assigned
• Carrie out other responsibilitiesas delegated by management in alignment with evolving business needs

Qualifications

• Requires excellent knowledge of digital print and/or ink jet equipment set up, adjustment, operating procedures, and a corresponding level of skill to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment
• Able to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment, and in addition, diagnose, solve, and correct operating problems affecting the quality and timeliness of the service or product or function
• Requires knowledge of color theory and ability to make adjustments and color corrections when operating the equipment to produce the imaging to customer specifications
• Good knowledge of file manipulation and file formats for digital print
• Good knowledge and ability to set up feed rollers, tensioning, timing and in-line finishing per job specifications
• Lifting up to 50 lbs, 4-6 hours
• Walking/standing, 6-7 hours
• Bending/stooping, 2-3 hours

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $21.21 - $28.65 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
