Job summary

Aptive Resources seeks a Biomedical Technician / Equipment Support Specialist – Medical Imaging Systems to support the VA BETPSS program. The role provides specialized technical support for imaging systems used in VA medical centers, including maintenance and repair across CT, MRI, X-ray, and related modalities.

Qualifications

• Associates or higher degree in biomedical technology or biomedical engineering.
• Electronics/IT/engineering degree with 1 year experience acceptable.
• DOD biomedical equipment training completion accepted.
• HTM or HTM certificate with internship; or equivalent experience.
• CBET/CRES/CLES/CHTM certification listed or held.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections on CT, MRI, X Ray, Fluoroscopy, Mammography, Ultrasound, and Linear Accelerators.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex imaging equipment failures.
• Install, configure, and test imaging equipment and workstations.
• Support system integration with PACS, RIS, and hospital networks.
• Collaborate with radiologists and medical physicists to resolve issues.
• Support acceptance testing and commissioning of new imaging systems.
• Ensure radiation safety compliance and QA procedures.
• Maintain CMMS documentation of maintenance and configurations.
• Assist lifecycle management including upgrades and decommissioning.
• Coordinate with vendors for repairs and parts; support cyber updates.
