Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a clinically oriented imaging support professional to join the Imaging department. Responsibilities include patient screening, remote monitoring during MRI, and assisting technologists to ensure smooth exam flow.

Candidates should have Paramedic or LPN training, or be a 2nd-year Radiologic Technologist student, with recent cardiac monitoring experience and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Paramedic program or LPN program completed (required or preferred).
• Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation (required).
• Second-year Radiologic Technology student (required).
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients to prep them for procedures and communicate readiness to the remote technologist.
• Transport patients as needed and verify identity.
• Complete pre-procedure screening documentation (e.g., contrast consent).
• Educate patients about the procedure and answer questions.
• Monitor telemetry during exams and ensure emergency readiness; initiate BLS if needed.
• Assist technologists and support the imaging workflow during MRI procedures.
• Complete exam data entry and maintain supplies.

Responsibilities

This position provides advanced technical, clinical and clerical support within the Imaging department. Responsibilities include managing patient flow, conducting patient screening, assisting patients during procedures, maintaining supplies, and supporting technologists as needed. This role also includes remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units.

• Patient Interaction & Prep

• Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
• Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent)
• Educate patients about the procedure and address questions
• Communicate readiness to remote technologist
• Monitor telemetry patients during exam
• Physical Setup
• Position the patient correctly on the scanner table
• Prepare positioning aids o Loads contrast injector
• Contrast Administration
• Place and manage IV lines
• Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision
• Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response if needed
• Emergency Readiness
• Initiate BLS protocols if required
• Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol
• Communication
• Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan
• Complete Exam Data Entry

Education

• Paramedic - High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program. Required or
• LPN - High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program. Required or
• 2nd Year Rad Tech - High school diploma or GED Required

Work Experience

• Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN Preferred
• Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation Required
