Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital is seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to support the Imaging department. The role involves advanced clinical and clerical tasks, patient screening, and assisting technologists during MRI procedures.

You will monitor telemetry, maintain supplies, and ensure patient readiness under supervision. The ideal candidate has training as a Paramedic or LPN or is a 2nd year Rad Tech student with recent cardiac monitoring experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation is required.
• Preferred prior work as a paramedic or LPN.
• Education tracks include paramedic, LPN, or 2nd year radiologic technology student.

Responsibilities

• Assist imaging department clinicians with patient flow and screening.
• Support technologists during procedures and remote monitoring.
• Ensure supplies are stocked and ready for procedures.
• Prepare and position patients for MRI safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

This position provides advanced technical, clinical and clerical support within the Imaging department. Responsibilities include managing patient flow, conducting patient screening, assisting patients during procedures, maintaining supplies, and supporting technologists as needed. This role also includes remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units.

What You Will Do

• Patient Interaction & Prep
• Transports Patient
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
• Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent)
• Educate patients about the procedure and address questions
• Communicate readiness to remote technologist
• Monitor telemetry patients during exam
• Physical Setup
• Position the patient correctly on the scanner table
• Prepare positioning aids
• Loads contrast injector
• Contrast Administration
• Place and manage IV lines
• Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision
• Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response if needed
• Emergency Readiness
• Initiate BLS protocols if required
• Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol
• Communication
• Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan
• Complete Exam Data Entry

Qualifications

Education

• Paramedic - High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program. Required or
• LPN - High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program. Required or
• 2nd Year Rad Tech - High school diploma or GED Required

Work Experience

• Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN Preferred
• Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Paramedic Certification Required or
• LPN license Required or
• 2nd year Rad Tech Required
• BLS certification Required
