Job summary

Southcoast Health is hiring an Imaging Assistant II-MRI for Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA. This per diem role supports patient transport, screening, and exam preparation, with MRI procedures and on-site imaging assistance.

You will handle requisitions, scheduling, and image retrieval while maintaining supplies and supporting quality assurance efforts. Vaccination requirements apply; CPR within 6 months is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional courses or training preferred.
• Computer skills and knowledge of hospital systems.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of office equipment and basic patient care equipment.
• CPR certification within 6 months.
• One year of related work experience preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 or eligible for exemption with signed statement.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including transport, obtaining histories, preparing patients for exams, and assisting on the imaging table.
• Assist with MRI screenings, explain delays, and process requisitions/paperwork; review schedules and retrieve outside images.
• Control inventory and maintain adequate supplies; assist with QA and education projects.

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee, provide patient care including patient transport, obtaining medical histories, preparing patients for exams, assisting patients on and off the imaging table, performing MRI screenings, and researching various implantable devices. Assist with patient exams and explain any delays in procedures. Process requisitions/paperwork, review schedules and assist with retrieval of outside images. Control inventory and maintain adequate levels of supplies. Assist with special projects as assigned such as Quality Assurance, Education, etc.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent plus additional specialized courses or training preferred.
• Duties require computer skills, including knowledge of both hospital departmental computer systems.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Knowledge of office equipment and basic knowledge of patient care equipment is required.
• CPR certification required within 6 months.
• One year of related work experience in a similar position is preferred.

• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $16.29 - USD $27.54 /Hr.
