Job summary

Meritus Health is seeking an Imaging Assistant for the Diagnostic Imaging Services (DIS) team in Hagerstown. This Saturday, as-needed position supports registration, patient flow, and workflow coordination in an outpatient imaging setting.

You'll assist patients and technologists under supervision, help prepare exams, and maintain safety, accuracy, and compassion in a fast-paced environment. This on-site role centers on delivering patient-focused care across modalities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a medical office, outpatient clinic, or healthcare setting preferred but not required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required in accordance with Meritus Health policy

Responsibilities

• Greet, check in, and assist patients, ensuring a welcoming experience and accurate documentation
• Prepare patients for imaging exams and facilitate efficient patient flow throughout the department
• Support imaging procedures under the direction of licensed clinical staff
• Assist patients entering and exiting imaging areas while prioritizing safety, comfort, and dignity
• Operate and navigate imaging-related equipment, computers, scheduling systems, and electronic health records
• Support multiple outpatient imaging modalities based on departmental needs
• Obtain, verify, and communicate patient information accurately and professionally
• Coordinate with technologists, nurses, providers, and office staff to support efficient scheduling and workflow
• Maintain a calm, professional, and customer-focused demeanor in a dynamic outpatient environment

Inpatient Imaging Assistant - Diagnostic Imaging Services
Saturdays Shifts | 730AM - 400PM | As-Needed

As needed positions are not eligible for benefits and have a set rate of pay. If you work evenings, nights or weekends, you may be eligible for shift differential.

From registration support and exam preparation to patient assistance and workflow coordination, you'll help create a positive, efficient experience for every patient who enters our imaging center.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary imaging team, you'll support multiple outpatient imaging modalities while helping ensure schedules stay on track, patients remain informed, and daily operations run smoothly. Experience

Licensure / Certification

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required in accordance with Meritus Health policy

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Proficiency with computers, data entry, and related technology
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and departmental priorities
• Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Demonstrated professionalism, adaptability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced outpatient setting
