Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking an Imaging Assistant to support technologists across X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound, and other imaging modalities. You will prep and screen patients, assist with positioning, and help coordinate care within the Imaging Department.

Ideal candidates demonstrate strong organization, hospital experience, and must obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days of start. This role offers opportunities to contribute to a busy, compassionate team serving the Seacoast region.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organization/time management skills.
  • Experience in hospital environment a plus.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Assist technologists in verifying patient identity and general patient mobility and positioning in the exam room.
  • Assist patients, families and friends as needed; escorts patients to correct locations for imaging studies.
  • Facilitates communication between the Imaging Services Department and members of the medical staff and other hospital departments.
  • Ensures quality care to patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards.
  • You will assist with the provision of all clerical services in the department.
  • Proactively address patient satisfaction issues related to delays.
  • Review written orders and accurately transcribes into the electronic medical record system, entering appropriate history as written on the order.

Imaging Assistant

Job Summary

As an Imaging Assistant, you would assist the technologists working all modalities within the Imaging Department, including: Xray, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Radiology. You will prep and screen patients prior to imaging exam/procedure.
