Job summary

Peraton is seeking a candidate to join our image quality and sensor modeling team. The role focuses on product evaluations, quality studies, initializations, and developing image quality equations to quantify expected system performance.

You will model components of the image path, including sensor, detector, atmospheric and material properties, and develop algorithm descriptions for software development. This work supports GEOINT system testing and verification.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree required in Physics, Engineering, Optics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related STEM field.
• 0–2 years of experience.
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Product evaluations, quality studies, initializations, or develop image quality equations to quantify expected quality.
• Model image path components including sensor, detector, atmospheric and material properties.
• Develop algorithm descriptions and documentation for software development.
• Develop verification methodologies for GEOINT systems and exploitation software.
• Sensor modeling and algorithm assessment to quantify performance for mission applications.
• Baseline assessments to support sensor initialization.
• Operational monitoring of system performance over time.
• Analyze reported errors and artifacts and propose corrective actions.
• Generate Image Quality Equations (IQEs).
• Relate NIIRS to physical image characteristics.
