Mississippi State University seeks an Intermittent Campus Transit Bus Operator Trainee to support the Transportation Department during a five-week training period. On successful completion, trainees are placed as intermittent, student, or full-time drivers; intermittent staff capped at 720 hours per fiscal year.
Trainees will complete CDL Certification requirements and participate in scheduled training and overtime for university events; basic reading/writing skills and knowledge of road signs
The Intermittent Campus Transit Bus Operator Trainee is responsible for providing support to the Transportation Department by being actively engaged in the training required to meet the qualifications of the Campus Transit Bus Operator within a five-week period. Selected trainees are expected to meet all training requirements and after the successful completion of the five-week training period, trainees will be immediately placed in either an intermittent worker, student worker or full-time (9-month or 12-month) driver position. Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.
