Job summary

Daifuku North America in Hobart, IN is seeking a 1st shift Manufacturing/Line Worker to load and unload parts on a powder coat line and maintain a safe, organized work area.

Responsibilities include selecting hanging devices, identifying parts per work orders, and complying with Daifuku’s QMS policies while aiming for continuous improvement and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred; 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Read and follow work orders and numerical instructions; QA knowledge; strong written and verbal communication; self-motivated and detail‑oriented; team oriented.
• Crane, forklift and Big Joe operation experience is preferred but not required; English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts from a continuous line, maintaining an organized and safe work area.
• Assist team lead to maintain high productivity and efficiency.
• Select hanging devices and identify parts per work orders.
• Load/unload parts on powder coat line.
• Adhere to Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Load and/or unload parts from a continuous line while maintaining an organized and safe work area. Assisting team lead as required to maintain a high level of team productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Selecting proper hanging devices
• Identifying parts related to work orders
• Loading/unloading parts on powder coat line
• Employees are responsible for comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

• Ability to read and follow work orders and numerical instructions
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented

• Crane operation experience preferred but not required
• Forklift operation experience preferred but not required
• Big Joe operation experience preferred but not required

ADA Requirements:

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
• Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
• Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
• Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
• Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Visual: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Job Conditions:

• The worker is subject to: inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• The worker is subject to: hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
• The worker is required to: function in narrow aisles or passageways.
