Position Overview

The Cost Accountant ensures the integrity of cost accounting information by planning, studying, and collecting manufacturing data to determine activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.

Salary Range

$88,000–$92,000K

Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing costs and pricing processes, procedures, and standards
• Analyze and develop cost standards for materials and labor
• Analyze manufacturing wastes and identify ways to reduce inventory and proactively communicate findings to management
• Analyze inventory valuations and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
• Support the Revit transition and coordinate interaction between finance and manufacturing
• Scrutinize manufacturing cost variances and optimize profitability
• Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with monthly closing process; post journal entries and conduct reconciliations
• Review monthly results and implement variance reporting
• Investigate, propose, and spearhead process improvements related to manufacturing expenses
• Participate in and provide support in internal and external auditing and other activities as requested

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of cost accounting experience in a public or private company

• Knowledge of manufacturing/accounting software and programs
• Highly detail‑oriented and organized
• Ability to multi‑task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with different employees
