Position Summary
The Automation Tech II works with minimal supervision to resolve electro-mechanical issues and equipment errors on automated material handling systems. Responsibilities include performing repairs, preventive maintenance, on-site setup, programming, and customer training.

Responsibilities

1. Use advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
2. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using technical drawings.
3. Minimize downtime through preventative and predictive maintenance.
4. Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex equipment issues.
5. Mentor and train Automation Technician I colleagues.
6. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
7. Update technical documentation and SOPs.
8. Collaborate with engineering teams on design changes and upgrades.
9. Document maintenance activities and repairs.
10. Follow OSHA and internal safety standards.

Qualifications

1. 2 years experience in the material handling industry or equivalent.
2. Experience with CMMS platforms is a plus.
3. Familiarity with material handling equipment and PLCs.
4. Knowledge of function and operation of material handling equipment.
5. Working knowledge of handheld and power tools.
6. Basic knowledge of PLCs and motor control.
7. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues.
8. Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
9. Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented.
10. Knowledge of safe industrial work practices.
11. Strong communication skills.
12. Customer service orientation.
13. Ability to work in a team.
14. Intermediate MS Office skills.
15. Support SOP creation and technical documentation.
16. Support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of material handling equipment.
