Job summary

Journey to Thrive ILS in Woodland, CA is seeking a passionate ILS Instructor to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to build life skills and independence in home and community settings.

You will develop personalized service plans, teach budgeting, cooking, hygiene, and navigation, document progress, and collaborate with families, regional centers, and care teams. A valid CA driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or in human services.
• Strong communication, patience and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with a flexible schedule.
• Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
• Background check and TB test required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in social services or related field a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide ILS instruction to clients in home and community settings.
• Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to each client's goals and needs.
• Teach daily living skills including budgeting, cooking, personal hygiene, and community navigation.
• Document client progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date service records.
• Collaborate with regional centers, families, and support teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Transport and accompany clients to community appointments and activities as needed.
• Advocate for client rights and promote self-determination and independence.
