Job summary

IMEC, a non-profit Illinois manufacturing improvement group, seeks a Supply Chain Technical Specialist to work with Illinois manufacturers on strategy, capacity assessments, gap analysis, and digital supply chain solutions. The role combines field visits with remote work from a home office and requires strong communication, data analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration across client engagements.

Travel within the state is frequent to support client engagements, and incumbents must be legally

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations or supply chain roles.
• Experience with automotive/industrial/quantum supply chain environments is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Experience with digital supply chain tools, ERP/MRP, and metrics tracking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct consultation on supply chain strategy, capacity, and process optimization.
• Conduct supplier scouting to identify, qualify, and connect suppliers to opportunities.
• Prepare proposals and support business development to expand IMEC services.
• Manage projects: assess operations, analyze networks, and implement improvements.
• Develop roadmaps and track outcomes with performance metrics.
