Deaconess News is seeking an Operating Room RN to join the surgical team. This role involves providing critical patient care and support during surgeries, ensuring safety, and educating patients on post-operative care. Candidates must have an active RN license and relevant certifications, with opportunities for flexible scheduling and career advancement.
Job Overview:
An Operating Room RN (Registered Nurse) plays a critical role in the surgical team, providing direct care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. Responsibilities include preparing the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and ready, as well as assisting the surgical team with patient positioning and monitoring vital signs. The Operating Room RN also ensures patient safety and comfort, coordinates with surgeons and other medical staff to facilitate a smooth procedure, and responds to any changes in the patient’s condition. Post-operatively, they assist in transferring patients to recovery, provide detailed handover reports, and educate patients and families about post-surgical care. This role demands high attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
Required: Certifications/Licenses:
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or Red Cross BLS certification required upon hire.
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire.
AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or within 3 months of hire
Education:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing
Experience:
At least one year previous experience in clinical unit preferred.
Compensation:
Hourly Range - $31.25-$46.88
Incentives:
Eligible for evening/night, weekend shift incentive based on company policies and applicable job codes. Additional details will be provided during the interview process.
Bonus:
Potential for a performance-based bonus, subject to eligibility criteria and achievement of defined metrics. Details regarding bonus eligibility and performance goals will be provided during the interview process or upon hire.
