What you'll be doing day to day
As a Food Service Team Member, you will ensure the operational excellence of IKEA Food by:
- Preparing and maintaining menu items according to the IKEA Food concept, adhering to food handling, health, and sustainability standards.
- Responding to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and processing sales transactions accurately, following cash handling policies.
- Maintaining equipment operation through adherence to guidelines, troubleshooting breakdowns, and conducting preventive and cleaning maintenance.
- Keeping dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays clean and compliant with Food Safety Standards.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of dining and play areas.
- Managing the Swedish Food Market by overseeing merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and sanitization of sampling equipment and areas.
- Communicating prices accurately and timely across all food solutions, including digital platforms, menu boards, and shelf tags.
- Maintaining supply rotation and stocking, adhering to FIFO, expiration dates, and sustainability standards.
- Implementing IKEA Food policies for goods receiving and inventory management.
- Following safe food handling, workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, reporting concerns promptly.
- Contributing to a culture that embraces diversity among co-workers and customers.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of related experience.
- Experience in a high-volume customer-facing environment preferred.
- Experience in retail with basic merchandising and selling knowledge preferred.
- Food Handler Certification and/or Food Handler Card required within 30 days of employment.
