Job summary

Join Sonic Healthcare USA as a Laboratory Histology professional in Dallas, TX. You will contribute to patient care by performing immunohistochemistry, IHC/ISH stains, and related histology tasks on a 3rd shift schedule.

This role emphasizes safety, quality control, and collaborative teamwork within a leading clinical laboratory network. The position requires a BS in biology or related sciences, at least 2 years of histology experience with IHC training, and ASCP certification or equivalent

Qualifications

• BS in biology, chemistry, or other sciences.
• A Minimum of 2 year of Histology laboratory experience with IHC training.
• Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent preferred.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes, and alarms.

Responsibilities

• Perform preparation for Immunohistochemistry, In Situ Hybridization and Immunofluorescence, including IHC/ISH stains manually and with automation.
• Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Recognize when troubleshooting is needed for processing, embedding, cutting, staining.
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.

Job Location and Hours

Location: Dallas, Texas Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 12:00 am - 8:30 am Full-time: Benefit Eligible

Job Duties

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process from preparing slides for Immunohistochemistry, In Situ Hybridization and Immunofluorescence. and IHC/ISH special stain procedures both manually and with automation.
• Performs and documents scheduled preventative maintenance
• Recognize when troubleshooting is needed for processing, embedding, cutting, staining
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is

• BS in biology, chemistry, other sciences
• A Minimum of 2 year of Histology laboratory experience with IHC training
• Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent preferred
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms
