Job summary

SESI, specialized education services, seeks an IEP Coordinator to collaborate with the Director and resource team to coordinate and evaluate educational programs across campuses. You will mentor staff and support onboarding while guiding recruitment efforts to build a strong team.

In conjunction with the Director, you will recruit, interview, select, and oversee onboarding of new staff, ensuring high-quality educational services for students requiring additional support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • SPED teacher or principal certification required.
  • Experience with similar population in a school setting preferred.
  • Experience coaching staff.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in data recording and analysis using Excel and Google Drive.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, manage, assess needs and student assignments for special education programs.
  • Assist principal with recruiting, interviewing and onboarding campus staff.
  • Develop transition planning and Indicator 13.
  • Maintain IEP and student file databases.
  • Prepare and attend IEP meetings and ensure ISBE-compliant documentation.
  • Plan and deliver staff and parent education on special education programs.
  • Maintain close working relationship with school district, parents and community.
  • Provide and monitor crisis intervention at the school.
  • Organize training for professional development and staff meetings.
  • Participate in Education Committee meetings and relay information to the resource team.

Utilize SESI’s proven instructional models, strategies, and curriculum. Conduct frequent and appropriate assessments, use data to develop and implement instructional plans, and collaborate with school teams and families to drive outcomes.

The IEP Specialist will work closely with the Director and resource team to coordinate and evaluate the educational program. The Instructional Specialist will act as a mentor and resource to the classroom staff and work closely with all departments on implanting the educational programs. In conjunction with the school Director, this position will be a key player in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and overseeing the onboarding of new staff.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with classroom staff to coordinate, manage, assess needs and determine student assignment in regards to special education programs
  • Assist Principal with recruiting, interviewing and on-boarding new campus staff members
  • Develop and implement transition planning and services/Indicator 13
  • Maintain IEP database and student file scan database
  • Prepare and attend students’ IEP meetings, assure documentation is accurately completed prior to the meeting and provide on-going monitoring to ensure ISBE compliance of students’ IEPs
  • Plan and implement staff and parent education relating to special education programs
  • Maintains close working relationship with school district, parents and community
  • Provide and monitor crisis intervention at the school
  • Organize, plan and deliver training for professional development and staff meetings
  • Actively participate in Education Committee meetings and relay information to the resource team

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree
  • SPED Teacher Cert or Principal Cert
  • Experience working with similar population in a school setting preferred
  • Experience working with staff in a coaching capacity
  • Strong professional communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to record and analyze data utilizing excel and google drive
Posted Salary Range

USD $70,000.00 - USD $80,000.00 /Yr.
