Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. is seeking an IEP Specialist to work closely with the Director and resource team to coordinate and evaluate educational programs for students needing additional support. The role includes mentoring classroom staff and collaborating across departments to implement programs.

You will recruit and onboard new campus staff, organize transition planning, maintain IEP databases, and ensure documentation and ISBE compliance for each student IEP.

Qualifications

• Current SPED Teaching license is required.
• Experience in school settings with similar populations is preferred.
• Experience coaching staff is beneficial.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Ability to record and analyze data using Excel and Google Drive.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage, assess needs for special education programs and student assignments.
• Assist Principal with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding campus staff.
• Develop and implement transition planning and services / Indicator 13.

The IEP Specialist will work closely with the Director and resource team to coordinate and evaluate the educational program. The Instructional Specialist will act as a mentor and resource to the classroom staff and work closely with all departments on implanting the educational programs. In conjunction with the school Director, this position will be a key player in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and overseeing the onboarding of new staff.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with classroom staff to coordinate, manage, assess needs and determine student assignment in regards to special education programs
• Assist Principal with recruiting, interviewing and on-boarding new campus staff members
• Develop and implement transition planning and services/Indicator 13
• Maintain IEP database and student file scan database
• Prepare and attend students' IEP meetings, assure documentation is accurately completed prior to the meeting and provide on-going monitoring to ensure ISBE compliance of students' IEPs
• Plan and implement staff and parent education relating to special education programs
• Maintains close working relationship with school district, parents and community
• Provide and monitor crisis intervention at the school
• Organize, plan and deliver training for professional development and staff meetings
• Actively participate in Education Committee meetings and relay information to the resource team

Qualifications

• Current SPED Teaching license
• Experience working with similar population in a school setting preferred
• Experience working with staff in a coaching capacity
• Strong professional communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to record and analyze data utilizing excel and google drive

Posted Salary Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr.
