Job summary

Penn State University seeks a visionary Director to lead the Intensive English Communication Program (IECP) in the College of the Liberal Arts. The Director will oversee daily operations, recruit and support faculty, and promote excellence in program communications while serving on graduate committees.

The role includes teaching a 1‑0 course load and representing IECP locally and at the profession level. Start date January 2027 is preferred with a rank open to Assistant/Associate/Teaching

Qualifications

• PhD or EdD in TESL or Applied Linguistics is required by appointment date.
• Experience in IEP program administration.
• Teaching experience in an intensive English program at a college or university.
• Record of ongoing professional development.
• Demonstrated successful program assessment and development.
• Outstanding professional, cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the IECP and model excellence in program communications.
• Develop and oversee recruitment, hire, train, review, and foster faculty and staff development.
• Represent the IECP on campus and within the profession; teach a 1‑0 course load if eligible.
