Position Overview:

The Shallow Water Lifeguard performs lifeguard duties, ensuring safety and providing excellent guest service in a park environment. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, guest interaction, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform lifeguard duties following all safety and operating procedures.
2. Participate in audits and in-service training sessions.
3. Work scheduled hours and comply with labor laws.
4. Enforce park, ride, and safety rules.
5. Assist with park cleanup activities.
6. Communicate park information and safety procedures to guests.
7. Report concerns to leadership.
8. Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• No formal education required; previous experience not necessary.
• Must complete Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training and certification, including swim and brick retrieval tests.
• Fluent in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Minimum age 15 years, compliant with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrated swimming and water rescue skills.
• Ability to follow safety policies and work independently.

Physical & Vision Requirements:

• Swim 25 yards, retrieve a 10-pound brick from 3 feet of water.
• Stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Correct 20/25 vision with or without correction.
• Ability to see color differences and details at a distance.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor aquatic environment with variable weather conditions.
• Exposure to water, pool chemicals, and outdoor elements.
• Potential for frequent interruptions and task reprioritization.
