Job summary

FM is seeking an Identity Services Specialist Co-op for Winter 2027, a 6‑month, full‑time engagement. This US‑based remote role may require occasional travel to Johnston, RI, to support corporate operations.

You will work on Microsoft Active Directory, Identity Federation, PKI, and MFA, handling tickets, changes, and daily identity tasks while gaining real hands-on experience and earning college credits.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student studying Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, MIS or related degree program during the Spring 2027 Semester to be considered.
• Strong foundational knowledge of identity and directory services concepts and Microsoft Windows environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations for identity and directory services (Microsoft AD, identity federation, PKI, MFA).
• Respond to incident tickets and service desk requests; process change requests and resolve issues.
• Help set up users with MFA and troubleshoot access to authentication systems.
• Tackle Active Directory Domain Services and Federation Services; support Certificate Services.

FM is hiring an Identity Services Specialist Co-Op to join our team for the Winter 2027 school term, full-time for 6 months January - June!

This US-based remote opportunity may require periodic travel to our corporate headquarters in Johnston, RI, which is part of the greater Providence area.

With a large college-age population, Providence offers a vibrant arts and entertainment scenes that includes local theatre and music, collegiate and minor league sporting events, and excellent restaurants, and we’re not that far from the breathtaking RI beaches!

Schedule

• Must be able to work full time 37.5 hours a week for 6 months.

• Hours: 9am to 5pm EST Monday

Responsibilities

As an FM Identity Services Specialist Co-op, you will be a member of the Identity and Directory Services Team. This team is responsible for handling Microsoft Active Directory and associated technologies. You will perform daily operations for identity and directory services technologies to support enterprise identity, authentication, and authorization services (such as Microsoft AD, Identity Federation, PKI, MFA). These operational activities include supervising ticket queues, responding to incident tickets received from the service desk, processing change requests and resolving technology issues.

Day to day support activities could include:

• Setting up users with Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)

• Troubleshooting access to Password Management application

• Account issues vary from restoring accounts, fixing issues with Single Sign On (SSO)

• Tackle Active Directory Domain Services

• Tackle Active Directory Federation Services

• Fix Active Directory Certificate Services

Qualifications

Education

Must be enrolled as a full-time student studying Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, MIS or related degree program degree during the Spring 2027 Semester to be considered.

Technical Skills

• Strong team players who can work independently when needed and have a proven understanding of basic concepts in at least one technology field (i.e., Networking, Systems Administration, End-User Support, Development, etc.

• Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Server 2012/19, etc.)

• Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory

• Experience with Microsoft Azure

• Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting technology a plus!

Soft Skills

• Have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Organized, diligent, and analytical

• Able to generate creative ideas to address problems and improve work methods

• Able to demonstrate high personal work standards and a sense of urgency about results

The hiring range for this position is $24.00 to $33.00 per hour. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
