Position Title: Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1 (CDL Center)
Status: Full-Time
Salary: $32,000 /annually (non-negotiable)
The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is a progressive agency that encompasses a broad range of activities and programs. Our Mission at DDS is to provide secure driver and identity credentials to our customers with excellence and respect .
As an Identity and Driver Credential Specialists 1 for DDS, you will help make everyday life possible for thousands of State of Georgia residents. The successful candidate in this role can make a positive impact on the lives of their customers that walk in whether its issuing learners permit to teens, welcoming newcomers by converting out-of-state licenses, awarding driver licenses to the first-time drivers by administering examinations or issuing identity cards in compliance with state laws and regulations. The focus of this position is working with and through others within established guidelines. The ability to interact comfortably with a diverse population is important. The successful candidate in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in helping others. Patience and attention to detail is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, accurately and efficiently.

Road skills tests are conducted throughout the year in a variety of weather conditions including rain, wind, summer heat and cold winter days. Testing begins in the early morning hours and continues through the early evening hours. The test runs approximately 30 minutes, and commercial vehicle skills tests can run approximately 2 hours. Walking distances, standing, very little sitting, constant moving, good vision and hearing, climbing in trucks and commercial vehicles, bending, squatting, lifting, reaching, turning, riding in and driving cars, trucks and commercial vehicles and constant interaction with the public and co-workers are prerequisites.
