Job summary

The Wellness Nurse role at Kids for the Future provides direct nursing care, medication administration, and clinical oversight for individuals across residential and community programs in Alabama. This position ensures compliant nursing support behind the scenes, coordinating with field-based staff and health service teams.

Based in the central office with occasional travel to program sites, the role emphasizes accurate documentation, smooth coordination with pharmacies, and proactive health

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN or LPN license in Alabama.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must pass background check and TB/drug screening as required.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, process, and maintain physician orders, medication lists, and treatment plans.
• Coordinate with pharmacies and physicians on refills and changes.
• Support field staff with medication administration questions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and health records.
• Respond to health inquiries from staff, families, and people served.
• Schedule and coordinate health-related appointments with Health Service Coordinators.
• Monitor MARs for accuracy and completeness.
• Train staff on delegated medication tasks and competency.
• Identify and report critical incidents per IPMS.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
