Job summary

Advancing Opportunities in Jackson, NJ seeks a Residential Manager to oversee a comprehensive IDD residential program, lead and develop Direct Support Professionals, and ensure compliant, person-centered services.

You will coordinate staffing, supervision, and community activities while supporting individuals and families, promoting safety, dignity, and independence in a mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of managerial experience with adults with IDD or behavioral health in a group home.
• Two years of DDD licensing experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license with no more than six points.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Ability to supervise staff and support individuals receiving residential services.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to fulfill all essential job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of an IDD residential program.
• Supervise, coach, train, and develop Direct Support Professional Leads and Direct Support Professionals.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels, shift coverage, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate daily structure, consumer services, transportation, appointments, and community activities.
• Monitor and support Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs), treatment plans, and skill-development programming.
• Conduct medication audits, medication counts, and oversee medication compliance.
• Manage household budgets, petty cash, scheduling, and residential documentation.
• Participate in admissions, program development, and regional growth initiatives.
• Respond to crises and support staff in implementing behavioral and therapeutic interventions.
• Maintain compliance with DDD licensing requirements, company policies, and all state and federal regulations.
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and person-centered residential environment.
• Serve as a liaison among families, healthcare providers, case managers, and community partners.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities and provide after-hours leadership support as needed.
• Support the mission, values, and ethical standards of Advancing Opportunities.
