Job summary

RHA Health Services is hiring an IDD Nurse (LPN) for a full-time day shift. The position requires travel within the local group homes, with a 20-minute commute from Cleveland, NC.

You will provide holistic nursing care, assist the RN, and train unlicensed personnel while ensuring timely medications and routine appointments. Strong communication, organization, and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program.
  • Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing.
  • Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Must communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team and the people supported and families.
  • Must be able to work independently, be organized, and prioritize work tasks.
  • Pre-employment screening: criminal background checks (OIG, Child Abuse Registry, DD Offenders).
  • Drug testing is required.
  • Education verification and other credentialing as required by position.
  • Proof of employment history or references if required.
  • Driving positions require valid license, insurance, and vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse in delivering nursing services.
  • Provide health-related training to unlicensed personnel.
  • Administer medications and assist with medication administration.
  • Ensure preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled.
  • Conduct medication-related assessments.
  • Collect health data and report abnormal findings.
  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, and the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Advocate for people supported and help develop community supports.

We are hiring for: IDD Nurse (LPN) Type: Regular

Location: Main office is out of Clevland, NC and all candidates must be willing to travel to our group homes within a 20-minute commute from Clevland such as in Salisbury, NC.

Employment Type: Full-time, Day Shift Compensation: $32.00/hour Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Assist the Registered Nurse in delivering quality nursing services to persons supported
  • Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel
  • Administer medications and treatments or assist the person supported with medication administration
  • Assist with ensuring preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled
  • Conduct medication closest assessments
  • Collect health related data
  • Observe for and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician
  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program
