Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is recruiting for an IDD Facility Nurse (RN) for Bear Creek ICF - Children & Adults in La Grange, NC. This on-site, full-time role offers $38/hr and a $6,000 sign-on bonus for FT status. The RN will oversee holistic nursing care and health monitoring for individuals served by RHA.

Required graduation from an accredited RN program with an active license; BSN preferred but not required. CPR certification and strong teamwork with the interdisciplinary team are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with IDD.
  • Observe, assess, and evaluate health needs of people we support.
  • Provide health-related training to unlicensed personnel.
  • Teach medication monitoring and administration where appropriate.
  • Administer medications and treatments or assist with administration.
  • Schedule preventative and routine medical appointments.
  • Conduct nursing assessments and health data collection.
  • Perform quality assurance checks for health tasks.

We are hiring for: IDD Facility Nurse (RN) Type: Regular

Bear Creek ICF - Children & Adults

Location: La Grange, NC (On-Site)

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: $38/hr+ (depending on role and experience)

Incentives: $6,000 sign-on bonus is being offered for FT status only. No relocation packaged offered.

As a nurse with RHA will have an opportunity to practice holistic nursing and to positively impact the lives of others by providing healthcare oversight and monitoring for the people we serve.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs or the people we support
  • Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel
  • Teach the people we serve to monitor their health and provide medication administration training to the people we serve when appropriate
  • Administer medications and treatments or assist the person supported with medication administration
  • Assist with ensuring preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled
  • Conduct medication closest assessments
  • Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health related tasks as assigned
  • Collect health related data
  • Conduct nursing assessments
  • Observe for and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician
  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program
  • BSN preferred, but not required
  • Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families
  • Must be able to work independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks
  • Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification

Physical requirements include:
  • ability to regularly lift 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop.
  • Must be able to regularly stand and walk.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level.
Vision requirements include:
  • close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Must be able to communicate.
Pre-employment screening:
  • Complete criminal background
  • Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
Positions that require driving
  • Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
